Splifftet is a nationally renowned band, known for their daring approach to improvised music. Originating in Denver, Splifftet has captivated audiences across the country for nearly a decade with their creative compositional styles, psychedelic influence, and bold improvisatory storytelling.

Members of The Splifftet have performed at prominent music venues throughout Colorado and the U.S., including Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Roulette Intermedium, Smalls Jazz Club, The Jazz Gallery, Close Up, Ornithology Jazz Club, Nublu, Zinc Bar, Nocturne, and Dazzle Denver; and at Telluride, Vail, Aspen, Newport, Hartford, and Rochester Jazz Festivals. They have also received numerous awards from Downbeat Magazine and have been featured in Okayplayer and Westword Magazine.

Additionally, they have performed alongside many notable jazz musicians, including Sean Jones, Miguel Zenón, Ron Miles, Jason Moran, Ethan Iverson, Shane Endsley, John Benitez, Hugh Ragin, Adam Deitch, Paa Kow, Greg Gisbert, Dave Holland, and Terell Stafford.

Splifftet cites the explorative and folk-like music of Colorado jazz artists Ron Miles, Bill Frisell, and Rudy Royston as having a large impact on their sound as a band. Splifftet’s music is filled with soaring melodies, reflective soundscapes, explosions of sound, and intoxicating grooves that carry the listener to new dimensions with each beat. By incorporating elements of psychedelia, hiphop, and free improvisation in their music, Splifftet’s music breathes life into the jazz world, and as Jason Moran describes them, “sounds fresh.”

Splifftet released their debut record, Live at Steadbrook, in 2022, garnering acclaim from Jason Moran. In December 2025, they released their first single as a band, Inner Transformation, recorded live at The Jazz Gallery.
